Getting ready for a vacation is always an exciting time. Whether you are just flying one state over or are taking a trip around the world, there is a lot to do before you leave. Once you have selected your vacation destination and bought tickets, it is time to get into the really important stuff. Understanding the latest regulations, what to bring, and what you need, you can get packing in earnest.
One thing many people do not investigate is one of the most basic parts of traveling – airline tickets. With recent technological advances, more and more people are turning to electronic tickets instead of the old-fashioned paper tickets. Whether you bought your tickets online yourself or worked with a travel agency, there are some things you will need to keep in mind if you are flying with an eTicket.
- You will need to confirm your ticket. Many people don’t understand how important this step is. Call the airline or check online 24 hours before your flight. This will keep you abreast of any changes. If you are flying out of the country, check in 72 hours early.
- Photo identification is a must. Even if you are only flying domestically, you must have a picture ID with you. If you are flying out of the country you will need a passport and possibly a Visa.
- Bring your credit card or reservation number with you. You will need one of these items to check in once you arrive at the airport. If you opt to bring your credit card, be sure it is the same card used to buy the tickets.
